This burger!!! YUM. I'm always on the hunt for a good blue cheese burger and this my be my absolute favorite one. The Verona Station burger at Whistle Stop Ale House is a 1/2 pound of Misty Isle Natural Angus burger topped with gorgonzola cheese, honey smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and red onion served on a sesame bun. I want to eat one every single day. We also had the Whistle Stop Reuben with house made corned beef, topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and 1000 Island dressing, served on marbled rye bread.

This family owned neighborhood pub has been around since 1995. They are known for their amazing staff and great food. They aren’t kidding! They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 Days a week. They have some fun events coming up.

Anyone else worried about all the garbage piling up? If you are a Republic Services customer and if you missed garbage pickup Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday due to weather here's the latest update!

(update: 02/08/19; 4:45 p.m.)

Due to continued storm conditions which prevent safe collection of garbage, recycling and organics containers, Republic Services has cancelled Saturday's missed pickup recovery.

Solid waste customers whose collection was missed last week will now have their carts collected on their next scheduled collection day and are allowed to place out double amounts of garbage and unlimited amounts of recycling and organics at no additional charge. You can store overflow in sturdy garbage bags or in plastic tubs

It sounds like the only question for this weekend will be are there six inches, 8 inches, or a foot of blowing snow and  frigid temperatures!  But no matter what this weekend storm brings to Puget Sound, cities around the region say they are making special plans to make sure everyone, pedestrian to drivers to firefighters, can get around safely.

Here are the published routes for snow and ice removal and plowing from the City of Renton!

Streets that receive a high volume of traffic such as NE 4th, Sunset, Benson, Talbot, Carr Road, school routes and the main access roads to Renton Hill and West Hill are first priority for anti-icer pre-treating plowing and sanding. During peak commute hours, these streets receive the most attention

I absolutely love a good story and combine it with a family tradition then it's just too good not to share! I received a contest entry from someone which was followed with a story about why she entered the contest. I hope you enjoy the history of this sign as much as we did!

"Here's a picture of the original "Season Greetings" sign that my grandfather made for his family in the 1940s in Montana.  The sign was given to my dad and it was by far the best Christmas decoration we had  in Montana.  Living on a ranch 5 miles from the closest neighbor, we didn't see a lot of decorations growing up-- but we always had our sign up.  When I bought my first townhouse out here in Redmond in 1998, my dad had a replica of the sign made for me.. it is this

Need a little holiday shopping inspiration? Perhaps a little self-care in the month of December?

I'm excited to tell you about a lovely new nail salon that just opened this Fall on the Maple Valley Highway. Nuyen Nail Care & Spa is awesome! The salon is spotless, the nail technicians are very talented and the chairs are super comfortable and relaxing. I've been in 3 times since they opened and they are friendly, prices are great, and most importantly my nails look awesome. They have 12 pedicure chairs so it's very fun with a group. Recently a group of girls had a Pamper Day and they were able to seat us all side-by-side. I definitely recommend making an appointment before you go.

Nuyen Nail Care & Spa prides itself on being one of the most

There are few things I love more than cookies! I could actually eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner. But they have to be reallllllly good cookies. I like to think of myself as a discriminating cooking connoisseur. I'm picky about my indulgences. Pretty things are also at the top of my list of favorites. When you combine delicious cookies + pretty=Cookies by Meesa.

I discovered Meesa Andelin on a Facebook post when I was looking for someone to make a special dessert for my wedding in October. Being a cookie girl I wanted hand-frosted pretty cookies instead of a cake. Meesa was awesome to work with and was full of ideas. These are the cookies she made for our wedding! Aren't they awesome?

She also made cookies for two different

For the next few weeks For The Love of Renton will be focusing on all things Holiday Cheer! AND there is nothing more cheerful to me than desserts. While I love to cook I’m a terrible baker so that usually means I’m trying to pick something up at the store that might be halfway decent. In recent months I have stumbled across some amazing women with dessert super powers. With all the Holiday events coming up I wanted to feature some Renton businesses that can solve all your holiday dessert problems.

I absolutely love what I do!! Because I wear multiple hats throughout my day as a mom, real estate broker, lunch lady, wife, friend, daughter, blogger, I get to meet lots of people throughout the week. I love to hear the stories of those I connect with.
